FRAUD ALERT! Work at Home Data Entry Scams Using Our Company Name!

Aug 1, 2011   //   by Jon VonSeggen   //   FirstLink News  //  No Comments

It has been brought to our attention that people around the country are being misled to believe that FirstLink Technology, INC. is hiring people to do at home data entry work. The most common way people are being reached is through fake Craigslist job posting ads. These ads usually lead to an e-mail request for an instant messaging job interview. Our company name, address, and information from our website is being used to prop up their false claims of employment opportunity. FirstLink does not conduct interviews via Yahoo messenger or similar public instant messaging services. Please report abuse to Craigslist if you encounter one of these job scams.

The reported IM name is Mrs Stacey Branham or Mary Arnold with associated e-mail address similar to hiringdept_1st@yahoo.com maryarnold114@yahoo.com or hr.dreamjobs@att.net.

Please do not be fooled. These scammers have no affiliation with FirstLink Technology, Inc. We DO NOT offer generic work at home programs. This is a scam and we have made every attempt to track them down and report them.

FirstLink launches new site for Fowler & Peth

Jul 14, 2011   //   by Jon VonSeggen   //   FirstLink News  //  No Comments

FirstLink Technology Inc. was recently tasked with the job of completely overhauling the web presence of Fowler & Peth, a Rocky Mountain building materials distributor.  Along with an updated look and feel, we created unique experiences for various different user profiles.  Portals based on user profiles provide home owners, contractors and building material dealers a unique experience and customized content highlighting Fowler & Peth’s diverse areas of expertise.  Content management for product listing, news and events, locations and more allow Fowler & Peth to maintain relevance on the web and update their content without website programming knowledge.

FirstLink worked closely with numerous different representatives from Fowler & Peth to first thoroughly understand their business model and the challenges facing their company. FirstLink then designed and programmed a framework for their site that will support their current needs as well as their future ideas and goals. Fowler & Peth now has a website that will serve their needs and grow with them well into the future.

One week from the scheduled launch of their new website, their previous website hosting provider’s servers went down and the hosting provider was unresponsive via phone and email to address the situation. Since Fowler & Peth’s web presence was dead in the water with no response from their previous hist, FirstLink rallied immediately and in a matter of hours, launched their new website a full week earlier than was we had planned. FirstLink is proud to be the kind of organization that can respond this quickly to the needs of our customers and deliver needed solutions faster than you can say hypertext transfer protocol.

Please visit the beautiful new website we have created at www.fowlerpeth.com and remember to keep FirstLink in mind for everything Internet.

FirstLink to Create New Website for KAM Controls, Inc

Feb 1, 2011   //   by Jon VonSeggen   //   FirstLink News  //  No Comments

KAM Controls, Inc., a petroleum measurement company, has contracted FirstLink Technologies to develop a brand new company website at kam.com and to provide Search Engine Optimization services during and after the creation of the new website. KAM is looking for a total site makeover both from a design and functionality standpoint. Their current Content Management System is not meeting their needs, nor is it allowing them to easily optimize their site for search engines, current news, and social media integration. KAM came to FirstLink for a solution that will allow easy granular control over all these functions, an improved interface between their customers, products, and support materials, and a way to promote the application of their technologies as well as simplythe products themselves.

In addition to creating the new company website, FirstLink is aiding in the installation, integration, and support of a new Customer Relationship Management system they have selected called info@hand, a CRM platform based on the Sugar CRM system. One of the project goals is the integration of functions within info@hand system with data output on their new website so that they only have to manage content in one place rather than two to avoid inconsistencies and errors.

    FirstLink Technology Blog 101.01 (rc2)

Jan 25, 2011   //   by Jon VonSeggen   //   Technology Blog  //  No Comments

A FirstLink technology blog? What could be more exciting?!!! WOO HOO!!!!! OK, so maybe that’s a little bit over the top, but I for one am a little bit stoked to have a creative outlet to document my (and my colleages’ here at FirstLink) thoughts and reactions to developments in technology and Internet standards and practices and the whole bag of tricks, balls of wax, and yards-o-nine.

    Tron

I begged my mom for a light cycle to no avail...

Ok, so maybe I didn’t graduate magna cum laude from MIT, and I didn’t invent the microprocessor, and my theories have got nothing on those of Albert Einstein, but I HAVE been neck-deep in the Internet industry for over 15 years and have developed my own fair share of nifty hacks. I’ve been doing this long enough to remember when Mosaic was my favorite browser and Lycos and AltaVista gave me the best search results.

My first computer used a tape cassette recorder to load and store programs. My first external hard drive was 30 megabytes and weighed about 20 pounds. In third grade I thought that TRON was the most amazing thing I had ever seen (the 1982 one). I’m a long time, proud, card carrying member of the nerd/geek community, so I feel that my commentary might carry at least a little bit of weight.
